Our Seaweed Enriched Multi-purpose compost is full of nutrients, giving your plants a burst of life with vibrant, full blooms. Being perfect for both beautiful bedding plants and tasty vegetables. This consistently high quality compost is perfect for a variety of plants thanks to its nutrient rich formula and wetting agent.

This is a 40L compost which offers great value for money. This compost is a reduced peat compost that is ideal for general garden use, potting, hanging baskets and other containers.

USE FOR HANGING BASKETS, CONTAINERS AND TROUGHS:

Line the hanging basket with either moss, or black perforated polythene before filling with the compost. Geraniums, fuchsias, lobelias and ivy both work and do very well in hanging baskets.

The compost can be used to very good effect in tubs, window boxes, and troughs.

USE FOR SOWING AND CUTTINGS:

For sowing, compost should first be levelled, lightly pressed and watered in the tray, before seeds are sown. Sowing should be done thinly and evenly, seeds covered over with compost and lightly firmed. Very small seeds do not need covering.

Seed trays ought to be covered over with glass or polyethylene to keep in moisture. Trays should not be in direct sunlight until the seeds begin to shoot.

When seedlings are large enough to be handled they should be transplanted into larger trays/pots, always being handled by their leaves (not their stems), gently firmed and watered thoroughly. Cuttings should be placed, firmed and watered similarly for best results. Also keep cuttings in warm and moist conditions.

USE FOR POTTING AND PLANTING:

Potting plants should first be watered and then fill the pot partly with compost. Plants can then be positioned into the centre.

Fill the remaining pot space around the plants with compost, carefully firming and watering. When planting out shrubs, roses, and trees, use a half mixture of compost and garden soil in the planting hole.

COMPOST USAGE:

Compost can be used straight from our bag for cuttings, sowing, potting, hanging baskets, troughs, window boxes and tubs.

For potting or filling seed trays compost should be only lightly firmed, and keep it moist at all times, avoid drying out.

Our compost contains all the essential plant foods needed for 4-6 weeks after planting. After this time it is advisable to use a liquid plant feed to maintain good healthy growth.

COMPOST SUITABLE PLANTS:

Shrubs, herbs, Bedding plants, houseplants, and vegetables will do well in our compost.

It should be noted that this compost is unsuitable for rhododendrons, azaleas, heathers, and other lime-hating plants.
